We Parted
For this installation, each performer created a "pop star persona," and performed the role in an environment dedicated to their world. The music was written by a composer, sound designer, and one of the performers. All of the lyrics are based on Emily Dickinson poems, and the installation explored the role of pop stars in today's society. They parallel Dickinson in quirk and mystery, and her poems exemplify some of the major themes in female-driven pop music today.
